Ternyata Indonesiaaaaaaa
Have you ever wonder where you live? Where do you stand? And which country do you stand on its ground?
Well, i am living here in the part of the world called Indonesia. The best ever archipelago in our planet. Why? No doubt, just look at your map where i am standing! I bet a bottowm dollar you'll amaze!
And of course, you will amaze how many people are really living in the country even i do still as i am exploring the part of Java where i've never been before.
It's only Java, we (i mean Indonesia) got few gigantic islands out there for me to visit and other to discover.

Indonesian Food : Cirebon Taste
Ketoprak cirebon
it is diferent from regular ketoprak
it is from cirebon
after nights we passed the spot, although we found out it was always crowded,
you know, when you found out that, it means, usually the dish is great and people is patiently waiting for the food
and it happens here, ketoprak cirebon
ketoprak consist of white noodle, lontong (packed rice), special recipes of spices and the most important and must have in it, is peanut sauce.
But the different for this citebon ketoprak actually pretty simple, slice of cucumbers but i do believe this man adds an ingredients that other ketoprak man does.

Monggo Chocolate
when you are here in Indonesia, you will find many 'lekker' imported chocolate spreads across the mini and supermaket alley.
it doesn't mean we don't have the chocolate tree. We do have it. Even in my hometown, i got chocolate tree. But i don't know how to process it into sweet chocolate bar that we could find in the store.
We call the chocolate trees with cocoa trees.
I have heard about Indonesian Chocolate product many years ago but i just write it down here on my blog because i just got from the cleaniest mini market in town and found that chocolate bar.
The Indonesian chocolate product is called Monggo Chocolate. Monggo is the javanese language which means allow you to do something. Because its name from java, the Monggo comes from Jogjakarta, one of the fascinating city in the Java island, you know why, The Borobudur Temple.
After reading the information from the article and TV, i know that the material is 100% from Indonesia. Our cocoa! But the recipe is from Europe and actually the European guy who has the idea making it, he is the chef of the product.
The range of the price is quite cheap, the last one that i saw for valentine day product, it was rp. 15.000,- ($ 1,5) for the small one and the big one costs you rp. 35.000,- ($3,5).
although i haven't tasted it yet, soon, you and Indonesian must try it to your tongue and melt it there. hmmmm

It is cheap. And it depends what eggs you prefer. it costs you Rp. 10.000 ($1) for chicken egg and if you want to try duck eggs, you need to pay Rp. 12.000 ($1,2c).

Jaksa Street
We got Jalan Jaksa for the backpackers. It has a lot of cheap inn/night, beer bars, clubs and cheap girls, you know what i am talking about.
Jalan Jaksa is renown for its place for backpackers and a lot of foreign tourist to have a night or have fun here. This is special for the tourist who are in efficient condition with their money.
This place is known as the night sight-seeing.
When i first put my foot in this place, when i was in higher grade. It was part of my english course program. Its aim, actually to make the students brave to speak english with foreigners. That night, i guess 8 of us got into the conversation with the germans. thank God, they could speak english so we can speak it, instead of learning german.
The last inn that i know was near from the main road there. It was rp.40.000 ($4) /night. And there are bunch of cool bars or clubs and cheap hotel if you want to have more comfortable bed than inn has.
I have read the magazine, this Jakarta Post saying that the Jalan Jaksa in Thailand version called Khao San area, of course it is for the backpacker in thailand. The street actually is bigger than Jalan Jaksa and i think what they store for the foreigners actually the same here

TEMPE
Loves tempe so much.
This morning, for my breakfast, i ate ketan putih (white sticky rice) with pouring dried coconut and a fried tempe and it didn't make me full but enough snack for the morning. And a few hours a go, i felt so hungry and waiting for my 'early' lunch to come, but i gotta work first. Here we go, my lunch menu was all fried, fried fish and fried tempe, except for Pare, green veggie with bitter taste and the ketchup. I love tempe, and i ate eight of them on this midday. I never liked it so much or it's because the fact that i was hungry. I think i do agree to my latter statement. But actually, tempe is healthy and yummy. And not to forget, it's cheap if you buy it. it's traditional food for Indonesian and my family always have it on the menu twice a week. Tempe is from soybean, it is packed in form. You can buy it here for Rp. 2,000 (20c)/bar and shapes like long trapezium and covered with banana leaves. It's so natural. You can do this material by chopping it into many pieces and cover it with flour and then you can fry it into brown in colour. You can eat it in hot condition with sauce or ketchup, that's my suggestion. Fantastic! And I do think frying it, is the best and simple way to eat it and mostly we do it like this, especially to Warteg (traditional restaurant). You can buy it there for Rp. 500 (5c)/piece. But there are many things you can do and make your 'a la' tempe as you wish. And most importantly, it made in Indonesia. You'll be loving it, fellas.

SENEN
today, we, me and my bff, went to senen. the place that i have known for many years but i, personally, never go there. I know my friends go there buying cheap things like clothes, the most famous apparel to sell there. So, here we go, the area that i never reach since my casting days since 2004. The place is so different and tidier from the last time i passed. We picked the public parking lot and it was pretty large area and maybe we were lucky because they were less people than usual. So, we went to the eastern part of the place as we got information from the parking man. We went to the 2nd floor to have my bff's business done first and we checked to the 3rd floor, the second-hand clothes, after that.
And i was amazed to the sightseeing there, full of all kind of types of clothes. The clothes is for all ages, men and women. They also have the man who are going to resize the clothes that you are going to buy. i also saw fashionable chicks and dude wearing trend apparel picking some clothes there and maybe some designers go here too to have cheap fabric and maybe inspiration. The range of prices of the clothes pretty cheap. jacket and shirt for rp. 35.000 ($3,50). Tees for rp. 10000 ($1). Tie for rp. 5000 (50c). The man also sell their nice jeans for rp. 10000 ($1). my bf suggested me after buying it you have to rinse it with hot water+detergent and rinse it again (rinsing part 2) with just regular water and wash it in the end like he did when he bought his thick jacket, the real price was rp. 35000 and he bargained it to be rp. 15000 ($1,50). Oh yeah, i forgot to tell you that you can actually bargain it. Yipee ;)
it also has line-up foods and snacks near tha parking lot, these are something traditional that you can eat, it must be cheap and delicious. Yumm. And i was laughing seeing this young man selling paper bag that the luxurious shops have and gave when you have purchased their things, name it like CK. I was imagining that this lady (the one who i saw buying) having this CK paper bag in her hand and went to great malls after this, so rich! Instead of having the expensive thing inside, like you bought one piece of tee or dress, because one is quite expensive to buy, you have lot of cheap clothes inside instead. Haha then we stopped by to this mall, called senen jaya and thrilled, especially my bff, seeing lots of watches on the 1st floor.
They sell it in a beautiful shape and lots of colours and one thing for sure, these things are cheap. They have this odm, puma, police, dg and ck imitation. Amazing! And they even sell the watch for rp. 14000 ($1,40) and we looked at each other opening our mouth saying, "what!" but what do you expect, it was cheap and no quarantee in quality. So when people do buy it, it all because of the fancy shapes and beautifully colours. you know what these are chinese. Haha we were kinda tired and decided to go home, it will be a long road, and It was new experience and i will be back to check out things there again.
